I have a brand new Inspiron 5100 with Targus APR. I have connected an HP Deskjet to the APR parallel port. Windows XP saw the printer and setup the driver for it on the 'USB Virtual Printer Port'. A few days later, after disconnecting the Port Replicator and then plugging it back in, upon startup, Windows XP recognized the same HP printer (still plugged into the parallel port on the APR) as a new printer and setup the driver again in the 'USB Virtual Printer Port'. After that, I could not print to the original printer driver, because it does not recognize the printer as being connected. I've seen this same problem on another similar setup with the Targus APR.
Anyone else figured out the solution to this problem? The Inspiron 5100 has the latest BIOS update. Thanks for the help!
